4、非也非也！在《冰河世纪》中，霍士突破了一贯恐龙因地球突变而逃亡的桥段，反而将情节带到冰河时代，更进一步地剖述绝地动物(如长毛象)与人类之间的微妙关系，成功地过度至更深层次的「进化论」——人类与自然万物的关系。
5、两万年前，长毛象文辉(梁汉文配音)救了树獭森仔(李灿森配音)之后，一起南下逃避冰河世纪的来临。在途中，它们救了一个猎人的小孩，为了将小孩子送回，它们跟懂得追踪的剑齿虎大阿哥(少爷占配音)同行。几经艰苦，它们终於找到了猎人的下落，然而却反遭猎人的长矛相向……
6、以动物角度看世界，人类是多自私自利。人类为了猎取野生动物的毛皮，不惜将半族剑齿虎**，令长毛象骨肉分离。反观戏中的动物世界，有情有义，互相扶持。为了将小孩送回，长毛象经历千辛万苦，险象环生，却换来猎人的长矛相向，令人类汗颜。
7、在霍士的处理下，片中各卡通人物生动趣致，更有不少笑料，而片中穿插的小松鼠，因一粒松果而「蒙查查」走入冰封的山洞，*后引发火山爆发，这小松鼠可谓抢尽风头呢！幸好有主角树獭森仔的搞笑演出(加上李灿森的生鬼配音)，更是相得益彰。
8、相比3D制作的《怪兽公司》及《反斗奇兵》等动画，《冰河世纪》无疑在动作的造型有点逊色。但当笔者看过此片，欣赏到片中大量「数码化」的大自然画面，去展示水面和地面景致时，实在目不暇给，真令人赞叹电脑特技是多迫真啊！
